Sean McKeown, director of services, Kilkenny County Council
Kilkenny County Council director of services Sean McKeown looks set to be appointed the new Chief Executive of Waterford Council.
His appointment has yet to be formally ratified, but it understood it will take place next week.
Mr McKeown has been a presence on Kilkenny County Council for seven years, most recently as Director of Planning, Economic and Environmental Services. He previously served as Director of the South East Action Plan for Jobs, and Head of Enterprise, and crucially, he also steered the ship as acting chief executive for two years following the retirement of Colette Byrne.
Michael Walsh stood down as CEO of Waterford Council in April.
