Penneys has revealed its newly renovated store in the Market Cross Shopping Centre in Kilkenny City ahead of Christmas.
€2 million has been invested in giving the store a full refurbishment.
The store recently celebrated its 30th birthday alongside Market Cross Shopping Centre, having first opened its doors in September 1994.
The halls have been decked and the store is filled with festive spirit with Christmas outfits and decorations galore.

The store now offers 6 self-checkout tills alongside traditional served tills giving shoppers more choice and reducing queue times.
The refurbishment forms part of a €250 million investment programme by Penneys into its store network across Ireland which has seen new stores open and existing stores like Kilkenny revamped in line with the fashion retailer’s refreshed new brand look.
Penneys Kilkenny employs over 60 colleagues, with two retail colleagues - Aileen Watters and Breda Kane – having worked there since the store first opened over 30 years ago.
Fifteen contractors completed the works over the course of 10 weeks, ensuring customers could go about their shopping without disruption.
In addition to new fittings and fixtures throughout the store, the lighting system was upgraded to new LED technology that has halved lighting energy usage.
Welcoming customers to the new Penneys Kilkenny, Fintan Costello, Head of Penneys Ireland and Northern Ireland, said that 'Christmas has come early for Kilkenny shoppers who can look forward to a better shopping experience in our fresh new store'.
"We’re delighted to welcome loyal and new customers through the doors and give them even more choice across our ranges," he added.
"We’re proud to be investing in our stores across the country, providing a vital boost to communities as well as to neighbouring retailers through the footfall we attract."
