"It is with great sadness that I have decided to close Barista Sistas. This was not an easy decision and is probably one I should have made sooner," the local coffee shop posted.
"I am very aware that Callan needs a coffee shop like ours however it is not financially sustainable to continue.
"The extended roadworks outside our premises last summer (which were supposed to last 2 months and instead lasted 4 months) resulted in a very sharp drop in turnover from which we have been unable to recover," they claimed.
"To our amazing customers who supported us from Day 1 (you know who you are) thank you. You have become friends to us and we will definitely miss the craic." they continued.
The Callan business, which will remain open until Friday, May 16, added: "we look forward to serving you your favourite coffee, scones, toasties and cheesecakes till then."
