A substantial new planning application has been submitted to Kilkenny County Council by applicant Ciaran Walsh.
The application seeks permission for a change of use from the existing two-storey post office building on Chatsworth Street, Castlecomer, County Kilkenny.
The building is a protected structure listed under RPS No. C496 and NIAH reference 12301014.

The proposed development involves converting the structure into a restaurant and café operating over two floors.
As part of the development, the applicant proposes reinstating two full windows on the front façade and one full window on the rear façade.
The application also includes minor internal alterations such as the addition of toilet facilities, along with all associated site works.
The planning authority received the application on April 29, 2025. A decision on the proposal is due on June 23, 2025.
