A Kilkenny catering company has been subjected to a Prohibition Order according to the Food Safety Authority (FSA).
A number of boxes of prepared food as well as rice were ordered to be withdrawn from sale to the public following a HSE inspection at a festival in Fairyhouse, on June 21 last.
The seizure was made at the Kerala House Carnival, advertised as a "cultural extravaganza packed with sports competitions, authentic cultural events, delicious cuisine, and much more!"
Elite Events and Caterers Food Stall, with a registered address at Carrigeen GAA, Waddingstown, Mooncoin, was served with the order.
Products they were ordered to withdraw on the day, according to the FSA, included: "Five containers of cooked rice; Three containers of chicken "6s"; Five containers of beef curry; One container of tapioca beef; One container of chicken legs; Two and a half containers of chicken chunks; Cooked rice stored in a large pot approximately half full."
The order was issued under the European Union (Official Controls in Relation to Food Legislation) Regulations 2020 (S.I. No. 79 of 2020).
