End of an era as Kilkenny man retires from business after almost half a century

Brett Brothers Ltd in Callan has marked the retirement of company stalwart Pat Murphy, who has given an incredible 47 years of 'loyal and dedicated service' to the business.

"Pat joined us in Windgap back in 1978 and from there he was the first operator of our existing mill in Callan," the company posted to social media.

"Throughout the years, he’s embraced every change and new technology with ease, especially mastering the mill cuber, where his skill and commitment have been second to none.

"Behind the scenes, Pat has played a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of feed across our customer base. As a company, we’re saying goodbye to not just a hardworking colleague, but a true friend whose expertise and good humour will be deeply missed," they continued.

"Wishing Pat the very best of health and happiness in his well-earned retirement!"
