'It truly means the world' - Kilkenny resident takes home Employee Excellence Award

A Kilkenny coffee shop is celebrating the success of one of its team members after she won the Employee Excellence Award at the Irish Restaurant Awards on Tuesday evening.

Agnieszka, who works at Café La Coco, received the accolade following a public vote, recognising her outstanding service and dedication to customers. The award highlights staff members across the hospitality sector who consistently go above and beyond in their roles.

The Irish Restaurant Awards celebrate the very best of Ireland’s food, hospitality, and dining culture. Now in their 17th year, the awards have grown to become one of the most respected and eagerly anticipated events in the Irish culinary calendar.

Each year, the programme receives over 160,000 public nominations and incorporates more than 6,000 hospitality businesses from across the country.

Judged through a combination of public voting, mystery guest inspections, and expert industry panels, the Awards ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation of Ireland’s top hospitality offerings.

"This award is a true reflection of the dedication, warmth and care she brings to our team and to every customer who walks through our doors," the local coffee shop posted to social media.

"Agnieszka, thank you for being such an important part of Cafe La Coco. Your hard work, positivity and heart do not go unnoticed, and we are so lucky to have you with us.

"Thank you as well to everyone who supported and voted - it truly means the world to us," they continued.

"So proud. So grateful."
