A popular takeaway in Callan has announced its closure, citing rising operational costs as the reason behind the difficult decision.
The West Street outlet had built a strong following in the County Kilkenny town, with many loyal customers taking to social media to share their disappointment at the news.
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of Yum Yum Chinese Takeaway, Callan," a spokesperson for the local takeaway said.

"Despite our best efforts, we were unable to secure a sustainable lease agreement with our landlord, and the rising operational costs have made it impossible for us to continue.
"This was an incredibly difficult decision for us, as we have loved every moment of serving you," they continued.
"THANK YOU to all our loyal customers for your support over the years. and for allowing us to be a part of your community. We are forever grateful."
