Campion Insurance, based in Kilkenny and one of Ireland’s largest insurance brokers with over 30 years’ experience in arranging insurance solutions for clients has announced the acquisition of part of Aviva Direct Life & Pensions.

Campion also acquired part of the general insurance business of Aviva Direct earlier in the year. This brings 15,000 new customers to the company. Campion Insurance has offices in Cashel, Dublin, Kilkenny, Midleton, Mullingar, Naas, Portlaoise, Roscommon, Thurles, Urlingford and Ennis employing over 150 people.

The acquisition expands and strengthens Campion’s market position in Ireland by adding complementary products and services.

“This acquisition should be seen as a strategically important step in our ambition to offer customers complete and flexible insurance solutions,” comments Jim Campion, CEO of Campion Insurance. “We believe that the products, services and expertise we have acquired give us added value and broadens our product portfolio and will have a positive impact on our growth. Both Campion and Aviva clients will benefit from the collaborative expertise as well as additional products and services.” Campion Insurance has been awarded the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Award 2013 for the third consecutive year.
