O’Connell’s pharmacies in the heart of the city, have been synonymous with health care and customer satisfaction for the last 70 years.
And on Friday, the shops on High Street and Rose Inn Street became part of Ireland’s only co-operative pharmacy brand and leading, fastest growing pharmacy group.
Pharmacist, John O’Connell and O’Connells Chemists (High Street and Rose Inn Street) has introduced new health services, offers, promotions and vibrant new stores to mark the launch of Haven Pharmacy which has 45 members of the co-operative, community centred, pharmacies all over Ireland, with over 100 pharmacists and 300 staff.
O’Connells, who have been members of the group for the last six years, have rebranded inside and out - offering a new and diverse range of products, services, health screenings, offers and a unique and interactive store experience for the local community.
“We’ve been together as a highly successful co -operative group for a number of years now, sharing knowledge, best practice, latest thinking and buying power,” John O’Connell said.
A survey of customers showed they were looking for a different type of pharmacy experience.
The research showed that in a market of increased self care and self medication the relationship between the consumer and the pharmacist is becoming even more important with the consumer demanding more interaction from their pharmacist and the latest and most expert health care advice. Research also showed that community pharmacists are regarded as the most accessible health care experts in primary care which bodes well for Haven Pharmacy, which is already the leading community pharmacy group in Ireland.
Haven Pharmacy has been designed to appeal to the local consumer, with local needs but who will also be able to benefit from the shared knowledge, services and value offered be being part of a national network.
“We are retaining all the very best of what we have at O’Connells with some great new enhancements including more health screenings, outreach talks in the local community, regular health talks in store, special offers and promotions tailored specifically for our customers and a dynamic and refreshing new store environment,” John said.
