Folkster founder Blanaid Hennessy says the recognition feels especially meaningful following the decision to focus on physical stores solely in Kilkenny, where the business has deep roots as a local employer and destination store

Local business Folkster has been named a finalist for Best in Customer Service - Leinster at the Irish Family Business Awards 2026, in association with Goodbody.

It follows news that Folkster Bridal Kilkenny has also been named a finalist in both the One Fab Day and Weddings Online Awards.

The years since Covid have brought an ongoing education in resilience for so many retailers.

Folkster founder Blanaid Hennessy says the recognition feels especially meaningful following the decision to focus on physical stores solely in Kilkenny.

“It’s a place where Folkster has deep roots, both as a local employer and a destination store welcoming customers to Kilkenny from across Ireland, we’re proud to play a part in the city’s retail community. Above all, we’re delighted to see our team recognised for helping customers feel welcome, listened to and looked after,” she said.

“For us, customer service is personal. Customers often come to Folkster for a significant moment in their lives, and our team puts so much care into serving and styling them. This nomination is really wonderful and we are so grateful to our team for their amazing work.

“We also extend our warm congratulations to fellow Kilkenny finalists: Coffee Stop Inistioge, Biddys Good Luck Horse Shoes, M McGuire Haulage, Kilkenny Architectural Salvage & Antiques Ltd and RSI Ltd!

“We look forward to celebrating alongside them at the awards on November 5 at the Johnstown Estate.”
