One-way system in Callan is still confusing some visitors
There is a lot of demand for signage on the approach to Callan, to alert people to the one-way system, Cllr Joe Lyons said at the recent meeting of the Callan Thomastown municipal district representatives.
Acknowledging a previous commitment that signage would be erected in conjunction with the works on the bypass, Cllr Lyons asked if a “simple town centre sign” could be put up in the meantime, as so many motorists are getting caught out every week.
Area Engineer, Declan Murphy, said Transport Infrastructure Ireland were to look at a signage strategy for the bypass before the ring road works and he would follow up with them.
