PICTURES: Kilkenny town undergoes major works

Kilkenny County Council apologise for any inconvenience caused

A temporary road closure on Bridge Street in Callan, remains in place from its junction with Mill Street West Street (the Cross) to the Kings River Bridge each day until Thursday, September 5 from 7am to 7pm in order to facilitate silt removal works from the eyes of the bridge.

Local diversions are in operation and signposted, pedestrian access only.

The works have been overwhelmingly welcomed by the local community.

One person commented, "after all theses years. Well done," while another person said, "great to see!"
