Braving the wind and rain, on Friday, Callan welcomed a visitor to the town.

Minister Kieran O'Donnell, Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform, was in Callan with local Cllr Joe Lyons and general election candidate Cllr Michael Doyle, who is also a Callan Thomastown district councillor.

While in the town Minister O'Donnell met with locals and inspected the recent work done to clear the eye of the bridge over the King's River. See next week's Kilkenny People for more on the visit.
