Kilkenny community take part in massive clean up operation

Over 40 volunteers turned up over two days last week for Kilkenny's first Countryside Spring clean on the roads around Coolagh and the surrounding areas.

Together, they covered approximately 11 kilometres, ridding the roadsides, hedges, and dykes of unsightly rubbish.

The clean up concentrated on the following areas, Screhan, Kyle, Grawn, Coolagh, Courtnaboola, Bauntha, Cannafahy, Coolaghmore, Mantinstown, Garryricken, Knockbutton and Lodge Road.

"A heartfelt thank you goes out to all who participated and contributed to making their community a cleaner and more pleasant place to live," a community spokesperson said.
