RIP: Former colleagues make large donation to family of Kilkenny crash victim

A  fundraiser, established to help the family of Jelena Kuzic, who lost her life recently following a road accident in Callan, County Kilkenny has raised over €15,000 raised so far with Ms Kuzic's former work colleagues donating generously.

Former colleagues at Callan Bacon donated a heartwarming €1,250 out of a total of €15,815 funds raised so far.

"It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Jelena Kuzic," the fundraiser noted. "Jelena was a vibrant soul, cherished by her family and friends, and her loss has created a void that cannot be filled," the GoFund Me Page read.
 
"During this incredibly difficult time, we seek your support to help the family navigate the financial burdens that arise in such unexpected circumstances. Your contributions will provide much-needed assistance as they face this overwhelming grief.

"Jelena was not just a beloved daughter, sister, and friend; she was a person who brought joy and light to everyone around her. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering spirit will be forever remembered.

RENEWED GARDA APPEAL

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses following the collision which occurred on the N76 at Westcourt Demesne, Callan, County Kilkenny on Friday, March 28, 2025.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, involving a car and a pedestrian, which occurred shortly before 9pm.

The female pedestrian who was brought to St Luke’s Hospital to be treated for serious injuries, was pronounced deceased on Monday.

Investigating gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 8.45pm and 9.15pm on Friday, 28th March 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
