The kindness and generosity of people was to the fore, in Callan on Sunday, when a community cake sale and coffee morning raised more than €6,300 for the Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.
Organised by the Coolagh Pattern Committee, there was a huge turnout at the Parish Hall.

The committee thank all who donated cakes, buns and breads, those who donated the 26 prizes for the raffle and the generous people who donated financially.
Three Ukrainian families were also present to talk about their home and the family and friends they have there.
All monies raised will go to the Red Cross who are carrying out effective work on the ground.
