Epic Cycle
While compiling the history book on the school, great memories and stories came to light, including the mammoth fundraising tasks which were tackled while fundraising for the new school in the early 1980s.
The 100 mile cycle was one such event. Members of the current staff decided to come full circle in the final weeks of Coláiste Éamann Rís and take on their own 100km cycle. After months of training, last Saturday the group cycled around the school's catchment. Under the organisation of Tom Butler and his Well Being committee, this cycle raised much- needed funds for Cois Nore cancer support centre in Kilkenny.

Edmund Rice Statue
As the town of Callan prepares for its second big school celebration and reunion in a number of weeks, Coláiste Éamann Rís and the community of Christian Brothers at Westcourt in Callan want to thank most sincerely Pat Murphy and Tommy Dermody at Molloy's Funeral Directors & Sculptors Ltd, Callan. They have always been a most supportive and generous friend to the school and are never found wanting when it comes to benevolence in the community.
They have very kindly offered to undertake the cleaning of the Blessed Edmund Rice statue which stands proudly on Green Street and will maintain it on behalf of the Brothers and people of Callan into the future.
