Irish Water submit plan to drill wells in rural Kilkenny area

Irish Water will this week submit a planning application to Kilkenny County Council to drill wells in the townlands of Ardra, just off Deen Celtic’s lower pitch.

Cllr Maurice Shortall says Uisce Eireann have the necessary funding in place and hopefully current developments such as the Avalon House Hotel will now be able to press ahead.

The proposed development consists of a temporary working area, containing three bored test water wells, associated temporary infrastructure including an access track which will utilise the existing access point and trackway off the R426 and all associated works above and below ground. An Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report and Natural Impact Statement (NIS) will accompany this application.
