Memorable Eurovision run for Kilkenny singer comes to an end

Kilkenny's Enya Cox Dempsey

Kilkenny singer Enya Cox Dempsey's Junior Eurovision run came to an end in Madrid on Saturday evening with the local performer finishing 15th in the competition.

The Castlecomer native's performance of 'Le Cheile' was received very well by audiences at home and abroad as a memorable journey concluded in Madrid. - WATCH HERE

Enya was crowned Junior Eurovision Eire champion last month, impressing the judges and TV viewers all the way through the national competition on TG4 to secure a place in the grand finals.

"Once you stick at something it can really happen. Things take time like, you'll get knocked down a good few times but you will get that one time you’re lifted up so I’ve learned to never give up," she told Kilkenny Live prior to Saturday's final.

Meanwhile, Andria Putkaradze from Georgia was named the winner of the contest with the song 'To My Mom.'

It's the fourth time Georgia have won the Junior Eurovision.
