Tullamore College students Caoimhe and Saoirse Garry, (pictured) recently travelled to France with their teachers and fellow dancers from the Burbage Irish Dance Academy.
The talented students took part in a series of events organised by Castlecomer-Penvénan Twinning, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the partnership between the two towns.
This year, 2025 is a very special year for the members of the Penvenan twinning committee. A rich programme of events awaited the Irish delegation - representatives of the Castlecomer committee, musicians, elected representatives from Kilkenny County and Castlecomer, and dancers).
There was an official reception at the town hall, company visits (Bro-Dreger packaging station, Symbiomer factory, Prat Rouz cider mill), entertainment (Saturday morning market with a local and Irish produce stand, Breton boules games, seaside walks), an Irish evening meal/show, Breton boules games, seaside walks), an Irish evening meal/show and a joint exhibition on the theme of Ireland between Penvenan and Irish artists.
Well done to Caoimhe and Saoirse for proudly representing Ireland on the international stage and showcasing their dancing talent abroad.
