The Kilkenny Choir’s annual Christmas concert will take place on Sunday, December 14 at 4.30pm.

The event will take place in St John’s Church on the Dublin Road, Kilkenny. The Kilkenny Choir is conducted by musical director Patrick Rafter, and accompanied by some of the finest musicians, Deirdre Higgins, Sharon Carty, Gemma ní Bhriain, Patrick McGinley, Gyula Nagy, and Simon Harden.

Soprano Deirdre Higgins is renowned for her radiant tone, emotional depth, and ability to bring every performance to life. From standout solo appearances in major choral works to captivating audiences in recital and concert settings, she has built a reputation as one of Irelands most expressive and compelling young sopranos. Her artistry blends technical brilliance with storytelling that goes straight to the heart.

Irish mezzo-soprano Sharon Carty is a singer who has firmly established a reputation as a respected interpreter of both early and contemporary works. 

The Kilkenny Choir’s Christmas concert will include: Saint Saens: Christmas Oratorio, Stopford: Lully, Lulla, Lullay, Stopford: There is no rose, Tavener: Mother of God, Beach: Peace I Give You, O Come All Ye Faithful, We Three Kings of Orient, Once in Royal David’s City, and Hark the Herald.
