Staff at the Emergency Department of St Luke's General Hospital in Kilkenny went the extra mile to spread some Christmas cheer this year.
After disposing of their supply of Christmas decoration stock during the Covid-19 pandemic, two staff members in particular (Joy Moore and Anne Hunt) decided to bring some holiday happiness back to the department.

"Anne is a ‘hunter/gatherer’ and approached a number of businesses around town for donations of any kind Christmassy," Joy explains.
"We appreciate how difficult it is for any business to donate but Daltons at Chancellors Mills came up trumps and gave us a fabulous 10ft real tree.

"They even delivered it to us! We’ve never had a tree like this before in ED and there was a lot of excitement when it was fully decorated and located in the glass porch at the ambulance bay.

"We would like to genuinely thank Chancellors Mills for their kindness and would also like to acknowledge the lights/baubles donated by Woodies and Dunnes Stores."
Everyone in the Emergency Department at St Luke's General Hospital would like to wish the community a happy and safe Christmas.
