Gardai in Kilkenny Policing District are pleased to be able to say that there were no serious injury or collisions over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

They have however brought attention to the 'not-so-good' news of the results of their eighteen mandatory intoxicant testing checkpoints.

These checkpoints yielded the following results:
3 Drug Drivers
3 Drink Drivers
1 Drugs and Knife Seizure
4 Vehicle Seizures
1 Seatbelt Fixed Charge Penalty Notice

Tewnty-four speeding tickets were also issued.

"A really good news story would be checkpoints without detections meaning drivers weren't endangering other road users with their negligence," a garda spokesperson stated.
