The post office will remain closed for the rest of the day
Gardaí are at the scene of an incident at the post office in High Street in Kilkenny earlier this afternoon.
A man was arrested at approximately 3.30pm and is being detained at Kilkenny Garda Station.
Gardaí are at the scene.
Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the vicinity of the post office in High Street, Kilkenny is asked to contact gardaí on 056-7775000.
