Update: Two males before court in relation to retail crime in Kilkenny

Two males are due to appear before Kilkenny District Court next month charged in relation to retail crime in Kilkenny City.

Gardai from the Kilkenny Community Engagement area investigating retail thefts in Kilkenny carried out searches in Dublin last week.

The searches, part of the garda operation Tairge, an intelligence-led operation that targets the most prolific perpetrators of retail crime, has resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of cash and suspected stolen property.

One male was initally arrested and appeared before Carlow District Court on Thursday charged with 11 counts of theft. He was remanded on bail and is due to appear before Kilkenny District Court on October 15.

Two other males were also arrested and have been charged as part of the investigation. They are due before Kilkenny District Court on October 1.
