Man accused of possession of a slash hook at Kilkenny halting site

A male who is accused of possession of a slash hook had his case adjourned at Kilkenny District Court.

Jimmy Carthy (Jnr), Bay 7, Wetlands Halting Site is accused of the offence which is alleged to have taken place at St Catherine’s Halting Site on July 27, 2024.

On the date in question gardaí were on patrol at the Wetlands Halting Site when the defendant was observed with a large slash hook on the road in a verbal dispute with John Carthy in a driveway. He was in a very agitated state, according to gardaí.

The court heard that the relationship between the two men was that of uncle and nephew.

The matter was adjourned to Kilkenny District Court on September 16 via videolink.
