Kilkenny men accused of assault await DPP’s directions

The matters before the court were put back to December

Three men accused of assault in Kilkenny City centre in May had their cases adjourned for DPP’s directions.

John Carthy, Wetlands Halting Site, Kilkenny is accused of assault causing harm at Kieran Street on May 10, 2024 and of production of an article capable of inflicting serious injury at the same location on the same date.

A co-accused Paul Delaney, 149 Robertshill, Kilkenny is accused of assault contrary to section 2 of The Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act and of engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour.

A third accused, Damien Delaney with an address at 2 Jordan House, Castlecomer Road, Kilkenny is accused of section 2 assault and of engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour at Kieran Street, Kilkenny on May 10.

Sergeant Morgan O’Connor told the court that DPP’s directions are outstanding and the matters before the court were adjourned to Kilkenny District Court on December 3.
