Assault accused have case sent forward to Kilkenny Circuit Court

Two men accused of assault causing harm had their case adjourned at a recent sitting of Kilkenny District Court.

Timmy O’Reilly, 1, St Mary’s Avenue, Kilkenny and Tommy O’Reilly, Bay 9, Kilbarry Halting Site, Waterford are accused of the offence contrary to section 3 of The Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act. The offence is alleged to to have taken place on July 7, 2024 at Hebron Road, Kilkenny. A book of evidence was served on both men.

State solicitor, Gerry Meaney said that the DPP had consented to both men being sent forward to the next sittings of Kilkenny Circuit Court on November 19. The date of consent by the DPP in respect of the matter was September 17.

Judge Cephas Power gave alibi warnings to both defendants and sent both matters forward to the next sittings of Kilkenny Circuit Court.
