Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a theft outside a graveyard near Freshford in North Kilkenny on Sunday, January 12.
The incident occurred between 2.45 pm and 3pm, while the car owner was away for a short time.
On returning, they discovered the side window of their red Range Rover estate smashed. Two handbags containing Apple AirPods, a black Samsung phone, cards, a driving licence, and a small amount of cash had been taken.
The handbags were later found discarded in two separate fields, approximately 8km away, between Ministers Cross and Johnstown in a townland locally known as Seven Sisters.

Gardaí are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity at the graveyard, noticed another car parked there between 2.30pm and 3.30pm, or captured dashcam footage in the Freshford to Johnstown area during this time to come forward.
The total value of the stolen property was €1,000, with €400 worth of damage caused to the vehicle. Gardaí are reminding the public not to leave valuables such as bags, phones, or cash in parked cars, as graveyard car parks are frequently targeted by thieves.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station at 056 777 5000.
