Warning over text message scams (File Photo)
There have been multiple reports of people across Kilkenny receiving similar scam text messages today (Tuesday).
The texts in question are formatted as follows: "(Bank Name): A direct debit of (X) has been scheduled to (Company Name). If unrecognised, call (Phone Number) immediately. Ref: (Fake Reference Number)."
Please do not respond or call back the number. Contact your bank directly if in doubt.
