Motorist that drove through Kilkenny junction appears in court

€400 fine for motoring offence

A motorist who was convicted of driving without reasonable consideration was fined €400 at Kilkenny District Court.

Patrick Michael Murphy, Oakwood, Ballingarry, Thurles, Co Tipperary was convicted of the offence at the N76 at Grange Cuffe, Co Kilkenny on January 14, 2024.

The court heard that on the date in question gardaí observed the defendant driving on the N76 and failing to stop at a T junction prior to his vehicle entering the N76.

Solicitor Ed Hughes said that his client was a farmer and was back from the US and was planning on going to Australia soon.
Judge Geraldine Carthy convicted the defendant of the offence under section 51A of The Road Traffic Act and imposed a fine of €400.
