Former Kilkenny sports star, Caitriona Carey, is to face a trial on money laundering charges.
At a court in Dublin today (Friday) Ms Carey was sent forward for trial to the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. A date for the trial has not yet been decided. Ms Carey remains on bail.
The charges arise from an investigation by the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB). Ms Carey is charged with three offences contrary to the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010. The alleged offences are dated between 2019 and 2021.
