Kilkenny gardaí charge woman fleeing city centre with suspected stolen clothes

Kilkenny gardaí have taken to social media to thank a 'fine citizen' for assisting them in the arrest of a woman

Kilkenny gardaí have thanked a 'fine citizen' for assisting them in the arrest of a woman in an alleged theft in Kilkenny City Centre.

"Yesterday (Monday), one of our crew was on the way to a call on Dean Street when a chap driving a black van flagged her down," they posted.

"Apparently he witnessed a female running down Bateman Quay with a load of suspected stolen clothes in her hands. The same garda apprehended the suspect and charged her to Kilkenny District Court.

"We never even had a chance to get the name of this fine citizen but 'thank you' from us," they continued.
