Hit and run - Kilkenny man charged with careless driving causing harm

A Kilkenny man is to go to trial on a charge of careless driving causing harm.

Michael McCain, 6 Manor Walk, Rosehill, Kells Road, Kilkenny, is also charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident with a view to evading criminal liability (hit and run).

At the local district court a book of evidence was presented in the case and State Solicitor Gerry Meaney said the Director of

Public Prosecutions had directed the matter go forward to the next sitting of Kilkenny Circuit Criminal Court.

Charges arose from an incident on the Dublin Road, Kilkenny, on February 15, 2025.

Judge Geraldine Carthy gave the usual alibi warning and sent the matter forward to the next sittings of Kilkenny Circuit Court, commencing on November 18.
