Two will face a circuit trial on animal welfare charges.
William Carthy, Wetlands, Kilkenny, was presented with a book of evidence in the case at the district court.
He is charged with two offences contrary to Section 58(8) of the Animal Health and Welfare Act, that he breached an order disqualifying him from owning, having an interest in or controlling any animal.
The offences are alleged to have been committed at Drakelands Upper, Ballycallan Road, Kilkenny, on April 3, 2025.
He is charged with the same offence on April 26, 2025, on the N76 Callan Road.
Garda Brendan Power gave evidence of presenting the book of evidence to Mr Carthy.
State solicitor Gerry Meaney said the DPP had consented to the matter going forward to the next sittings of Kilkenny Circuit Court, commencing this week.
Co-accused is Christina Maria Reilly, 3 Railway Cottages, Powerstown Road, Clonmel. She is charged with doing, or failing to do, anything or cause or permit anything to be done to an animal that causes unnecessary suffering to, or endanger the health or welfare of, an animal, contrary to Section 12 (1)(a) of the Animal Health and Welfare Act, at Drakelands Upper on April 3, 2025. A book of evidence was presented and the matter was sent forward to the circuit court.
She is also charged with careless driving on the same occasion, which has been adjourned.
