Kilkenny driver who lied to gardaí to face big consequences following arrest

A Kilkenny driver who was disqualified from being behind the wheel of a vehicle and who gave a false name has been arrested.

The disqualified driver had previously encountered gardaí in a Ford Focus car when he was arrested for drug driving.

However, according to gardaí, the driver subsequently registered a Qashqai vehicle in a different name and proceeded to drive illegally.

"When stopped he proceeded to give a false name which wasn't successful as the previous arresting member was reintroduced," local gardaí posted to social media.

"Arrest, vehicle seizure and charged to court," they added.
