Drugs destined for Kilkenny were seized by Revenue officers at Dublin Airport on Sunday (December 18).

The seizure came as a result of routine operations and with the assistance of detector dog Enzo.

Revenue officers seized 6.2kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of over €124,000.

The illegal drugs were discovered concealed in parcels described as ‘shoes’.

They arrived in air cargo consignments from the United States and Spain and were destined for addresses in counties Kilkenny and Dublin.

Investigations into this seizure are ongoing and are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the shadow economy and smuggling.
