Crazy speed! Motorist clocked at 133kph in 100kph zone in Kilkenny on National Slow Down Day

National Slow Down day was on December 23rd

A car driving through South Kilkenny was clocked at a speed of 133kph in a 100kph zone - on National Slow Down Day just before Christmas!

National Slow Down Day ran from 7am on Friday, 23rd December, to 7am on Saturday, 24th December.

During the 24 hour period of National Slow Down Day  GoSafe checked the speed of 225,685 vehicles and detected 592 vehicles travelling in excess of the applicable speed limit.

One of the detections on the day was a vehicle being driven at 133kph in a 100kph Zone on the N24 Belline (or Rogerstown), Piltown.

An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to drivers to comply with speed limits in order to reduce the number of speed related collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.
