The seizure was carried out in Kilkenny on Tuesday night

Yet another traffic offence has been detected on local roads as gardaí seized a Landcruiser in Kilkenny on Tuesday night.

The seizure, under Section 109a of the Road Traffic Act, was due to the driver travelling at a ‘huge speed’ and failing to stop for the Roads Policing Unit.

“You can explain this one to the Judge,” a garda post on Facebook read.

“This is our call out to the owner of this Landcruiser which was seized under Section 109a Road Traffic Act. The owner will have to make an application to the District Court for its return,” the post continued.

“The Toyota was detected at a speed of 136kmh in a 100 zone and refused to stop for gardaí. The Roads Policing members discovered it bogged in a field shortly after witnessing it taking off at a huge speed last night.”
