Recent deaths in Kilkenny, Monday, July 1, 2024

The following deaths have been announced

John Layton
The death has occurred of John Layton, Castle Hill, Bennettsbridge Road, and late of Beech Park, Kilkenny.

John passed away on June 30, peacefully, at St Luke's Hospital. Predeceased by his parents John (Jack) and Margaret (Peg). John will be sadly missed by his loving sons Victor and John, daughter-in-law Debbie, grandchildren Patrick, Lauren, Jack, Chloe, John and Adam, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Tuesday (2nd July) from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at noon in St Joseph's Church, Foulkstown. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private please.

Hilary Sheehan
The death has occurred of Hilary Sheehan, Blackstaff, Callan, Kilkenny and formerly of Arklow, Wicklow.

Peacefully, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 30. Pre-deceased by his wife Anne, his parents Jack and Sarah, his brother John and George and his sisters Pat and Bernie.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sorrowing family, his daughter Suzie, son-in-law Michael, grandchildren Aaron and Gavin, sisters Fidelis, Maria, Olive and Nancy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, family and friends.

Reposing at his residence, Blackstaff, Callan, on Tuesday, July 2 from 4pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm.

Funeral arriving to The Church of the Assumption, Callan, for Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning, July 3 at 11am. Burial will follow afterwards in Cuffesgrange Cemetery, Kilkenny.
