Milo Hennessy

The death has occurred of Milo Hennessy, Ballyfrunk, Ballycallan, Co. Kilkenny. Peacefully, after a bravely borne illness, surrounded by his loving family, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Pre-deceased by his parents Paddy and Margaret (Peg). Milo will be sorely missed by his sorrowing family, his brothers Gerard and Kevin, sisters Rena and Eileen, nephew Shane, nieces Amy, Sarah, Laura, Margaret and Katie, sister-in-law Sadie, brothers-in-law Mikey and Jim, Gerard’s partner Eileen, his adored grand nieces Mia, Rose and Grace, neighbours, relatives, friends and especially those at Graigue-Ballycallan GAA Club.

Reposing in Hehir’s Funeral Home, Butts Green, Kilkenny (Eircode R95 FH90) on Tuesday, December 31, from 2pm. Funeral and Vigil Prayers at 6pm followed by removal to St. Brigid’s Church, Ballycallan (Eircode R95 W726). Requiem Mass on Wednesday, January 1, at 12 noon with burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballykeeffe. House Private Please.

Mary Brennan (née Guilfoyle)

The death has occurred of Mary Brennan (née Guilfoyle), St. Fiacre's Place, Kilkenny, on December 30, 2024 (peacefully) surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Beloved wife of Phil (Fess) and much loved mother of Philly, Eddie, Michael, Richard and Mary. She will be deeply missed by her husband, sons and daughter, brother Eddie, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great-granddaughter, sister-in-law Judy, brother-in-law Dixie, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Denis and Margaret and most recently her sister Kitty.

Michael Jacob Snr.

The death has occurred of Michael Jacob Snr.,  Pearse Avenue, Mervue and formerly of Riverside, Galway, Kilkenny and Co. Laoise. On December 27, 2024, Michael passed away surrounded by his loving family in Waterford, in his 95th year. Predeceased by his wife Eileen, grandson Daniel and most recently by his partner Marie Mulryan, parents John and Elizabeth and siblings Peter, Sean, Terry, Fabian, Kathleen, Bridie, Agnes and Sr. Theresa. Deeply mourned by his children Angela Smith, Michelle Gill, Gerard, Michael, Peter, Anthony, Elizabeth and Theresa Kilgannon, also by his sons-in-law Dennis, Albert and Simon, daughters-in-law Diane, Ursula, Carol and Rebecca, brother Cyril, sister Bernadette and by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Reposing at the Church of the Holy Family Funeral Parlour, Mervue on New Years Eve, Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 4p.m. with Removal to the Church at 5.30p.m. Please note that the new entrance to the funeral parlour for reposing is through the Church (H91FH52). Susanne Katharina Elsholtz (née Willi)

The death has occurred of Susanne Katharina Elsholtz (née Willi), Kyle, Coolagh, Callan, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Zurich, Switzerland. Susanne passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family, at her home in Kyle, on Friday,  December 27, 2024. Wife of the late Peter Elsholtz, much loved mother of Brigit, Christian, Tobias and Beatus, mother-in-law of Steven, Karin and Elizabeth, grandmother of Daniel, Natalie, Fiona, David, Oliver, Emily, Colum, Laura, Declan, Ciara, Ronan and Sophia, great grandmother of Quinlan, Florian, Jarla, Freya, Finja, Else, Margot, Cian, Élina, Brianna and Cillian. Susanne is survived by her sister Ursula Schmocker and her husband Fritz, her brother-in-law Robert Choffat, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Susanne was founder member of Camphill in The Republic of Ireland at Duffcarrig, Gorey, Co. Wexford and she will be fondly remembered by her many friends in the locality, Camphill and beyond.

Reposing at her home in Kyle, (Eircode R95 T2T3), on Monday, December 30, from 2pm – 4pm. A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, December 31, for Susanne in Thomastown Concert Hall, Station Road, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny at 10am. Cremation Service will follow afterwards in The Island Crematorium, (Eircode P43 DD71) Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork at 3pm. Michael (Mick) Brophy

The death has occurred of Michael (Mick) Brophy, The Square, Freshford, and formerly 28 Old Callan Road, Kilkenny. Mick passed away on December 28, 2024, peacefully, at Kilkenny Care Centre, Newpark. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Annie. Mick will be sadly missed by his sister Pam, brothers Noel and Gerry, sisters-in-law, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Interment Service will take place on Monday afternoon at 2pm in St. Kieran's Cemetery. All welcome.

Noel O'Hanlon

The death has occurred of Noel O'Hanlon, late of Figlash, Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary, who died on December 28, 2024 peacefully at South Tipperary General Hospital surrounded by his loving family, on his 88th birthday. Pre-deceased by his parents, father Edmond (Neddy) mother Lena and sister Catherine, sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, children Stephanie, Helen and Eamon, brother Paddy, sister Eileen, grandchildren Dean, Jack, Tommy, Andrew and Etaoin, great-grandchildren Anna, Grainne and Ellen, daughter-in-law Caroline, son-in-law Anthony, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Noel will be reposing at Walsh's Funeral Home New Street Carrick-on-suir on Wednesday, January 1, from 4pm to 5.30pm. Noel will be arriving at St Mary's Church, Ballyneale, on Thursday, January 2, for requiem Mass on arrival at 12pm, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Joseph (Joe) Kelly

The death has occurred of Joseph (Joe) Kelly, Station Road, Thomastown Co Kilkenny, peacefully but unexpectedly at his home.

Doreen Egerbacher (née O'Brien)

The death has occurred of Doreen Egerbacher (nee O'Brien), Unterschleissheim, Munich, Germany, formally Dunbell, Maddoxtown, Kilkenny. Doreen passed away peacefully at her home on November 25, 2024 in Unterschleissheim, Munich in the arms of her beloved husband Werner. Pre-deceased by her parents, William and Madge O'Brien. Brothers: Billy, Michael, John, Kevin, Martin and her sister Ann. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband Werner, her loving sister Chris O'Shea, brothers-in-law Colm and Gunter, sisters-in-law Kitty, Anne and Brunchilde, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and great neighbours.

Doreen was laid to rest on December 4, 2024 in Unterschleissheim, Munich, Germany. A memorial mass for Doreen will be celebrated on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 12 noon (Irish time) in St Fiacre's Church Loughboy, Kilkenny. Catherine D'Arcy (née Fitzpatrick)

The death has occurred of Catherine D’Arcy (née Fitzpatrick), Monroe, Slanemore, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Urlingford, Co Kilkenny, on December 29, 2024 (peacefully) in the tender care of the staff at the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar. Predeceased by her beloved daughter Sharon. Catherine will be very sadly missed by her husband Anthony, sons Padraig, Richard and Gerard, daughter Antoinette, her beloved grandchildren Edward, Rachel and Darcy, brother Patrick (Sonny), sisters Mary, Anne, Theresa and Breda, daughter-in-law Veronica, son-in-law Seamus, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home (N91 K660) on Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm with removal to the Church of the Assumption Walshestown arriving at 6.30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. House private please.
