Brian Tierney

The death has occurred of Brian Tierney, Kilbricken, Callan, Kilkenny. Unexpectedly at his home. Deeply regretted by his sisters Anna, Peggie, Jacqueline and Mary, brothers Tom and Kevin, brothers-in-law Frank and Martin, sisters-in-law Ann and Brenda, aunts Biddy, Peggy and Eileen, nephews Seán, TJ, Richard and Gavin, nieces Marianne and Aisling. Relatives, neighbours and friends.

Requiem mass on Saturday, January 4, at 10am in the Church of the Assumption Callan (Eircode R95VK82). Followed by a Private Cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium. House private please. Maurice Ryan

The death has occurred of Maurice Ryan, Meadow Way, Kilkenny and formerly of Dromline, Co. Tipperary. Maurice passed away on December 29, 2024, unexpectedly, at St. James' Hospital, Dublin. Beloved husband of Sheila and much loved Dad of Eimear and Edwin. Maurice will be sadly missed by his wife and children, daughter-in-law Yvonne, granddaughter Maya, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Tuesday, December 31, from 5pm with Funeral Prayers at 6.15pm followed by removal to St. John's Church. Requiem Mass on New Years day at 10.30am. Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran's Cemetery. House private and family flowers only please. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed HERE

Mary Rookard (née Fitzgerald)

The death has occurred of Mary Rookard (née Fitzgerald), Inchapooka, Ballymurphy, Co. Carlow and Graignamanagh, Kilkenny. Mary passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the excellent care of the staff at Borris Lodge Nursing Home. Predeceased by her beloved husband Ted and her sister Betty. Deeply regretted by her son Alan, her daughter Mary, grandchildren Sinéad, Hannah and Lucy, daughter-in-law Mary, son-in-law Grant, sisters Breda, Evelyn and Peggy, brothers Jim and John, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at her home in Inchapooka, Ballymurphy, (R95 FV00), on Tuesday, December 31, from 2pm, concluding with funeral prayers at 7pm. Arriving at the Sacred Heart Church, Borris, on Wednesday,  January 1, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Mass may be viewed online via the Borris parish webcam: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4Y2RvlwqIU) Burial afterwards in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tinnahinch, Graignamanagh. The funeral cortége will travel to the cemetery via High Street, Graignamanagh on the way to St. Michael's Cemetery. John Nevin

The death has occurred of John Nevin, Mountfinn, Urlingford, County Kilkenny. John passed away peacefully on  December 30, 2024 at St. Luke’s General Hospital Kilkenny, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his son Johnny, and his infant daughter Mary Janet. Sadly missed by his loving wife Winnie and father to Pat, Teresa, Bernadette and Hughie, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at his home (eircode E41P981) on Tuesday, December 31,  from 4pm with family prayers at 7pm, also reposing on Wednesday (New Year’s Day) from 3pm, concluding with Rosary at 6pm, followed by Removal to the Church of the Assumption, Urlingford (eircode E41 F866), arriving at 7pm. Annmarie Morrison

The death has occurred of Annmarie Morrison,  An Sean Bhaile, Doughiska, Galway and formerly of Kilkenny City. Pre-deceased by her parents Joan and Don. Much loved partner of Aidan and cherished mother of Shauna, Sara and Jane. Annmarie will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her heartbroken family, her brother Gavin, sister Kerryann, extended family and friends.

Annmarie will be reposing in The Holy Family Funeral Home, Mervue on Wednesday, January 1, from 5pm until 6.30pm. Please note that the new entrance to the Holy Family Funeral Home is through the Church (H91 FH52). The funeral cortége will arrive to Castlegar Church for Requiem Mass on Thursday, January 2, at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Rinville Cemetery, Oranmore. Patrick (Pat/Paddy) McGrath

The death has occurred of Patrick (Pat/Paddy) McGrath, Emmet Road, Kilmainham, Dublin and Ballykeeffe, Co. Kilkenny, on December 27, 2024, peacefully in the wonderful care of all the staff of Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross. Beloved husband of Máirín. Sadly, missed and always remembered by his loving wife, his brother Tom, his godchild, sisters-in-law Breega, Patricia, and Philomena, brothers-in-law Michael, Alan and Barry, extended family, friends, great neighbours and the staff of St. James’s Hospital.

Reposing at the Massey Bros. Funeral Home, 113 Emmet Road, Inchicore on Thursday, January 2, from 4pm to 6pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, January 3, at 11am in St. Michael’s Church, Inchicore followed by burial to Goldenbridge Cemetery.
