Johnny Farrell

The death has occurred of Johnny Farrell, Coolroe, Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny. Johnny died unexpectedly at home on March 2, 2025.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Maura Lanigan (née McGinn)

The death has occurred of Maura Lanigan (née McGinn), 7 Rosemount, Newpark Drive, Kilkenny and formerly of Paulstown. Maura passed away on March 1, 2025, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Luke's Hospital. Beloved wife of Liam and much loved mother of Niall and Aoife. Maura will be dearly missed by her loving family, sisters Betty and Rita, daughter-in-law Fiona, grandchildren Conor, Doireann, Ciara and Darragh, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends. Maura is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Margaret and sisters Lucy and Sheila.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Monday, March 3, from 4.30pm with Funeral Prayers at 6.15pm followed by removal to St. John's Church. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 10.30am. Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran’s Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed HERE Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the Friends of St. Luke's, Kilkenny. Donation box in church and funeral home.

Kathleen Kavanagh (née O'Shaughnessy)

The death has occurred of Kathleen Kavanagh (née O'Shaughnessy), Riverview, Ardnore, Kilkenny. Kathleen passed away on  February 28, 2025, peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital Kilkenny, Beloved wife of the late Tom and much loved mother of William and Deborah. Kathleen will be deeply missed by her son and daughter, brother Christy, sisters Mary and Aileen, daughter-in-law Aoife, son-in-law Nigel, grandchildren Max, Olivia and Daniel, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Requiem Mass on Monday at 10.30am in St. Fiacre's Church, Loughboy, Kilkenny. Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran's Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed HERE

Kevin McKenna

The death has occurred of Kevin McKenna, Walkinstown and formerly of Bragan, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan and “The School”, Dowling, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny, late of Arthur Guinness. Kevin, passed peacefully on February 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in the kind care of the staff of St. James’s Hospital. Beloved husband of Kitty and much loved father of Martin, Aileen, Kenneth, Brian and the late Ray. Kevin will be forever loved and sadly missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law Paula, Patrica and Tina, son-in-law Brendan, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Paul Muldoon

The death has occurred of Paul Muldoon, Cullaun, The Rower, Kilkenny. Paul died suddenly on February 24, 2025. Sadly missed by his beloved wife Margaret, loving sons and daughter Brian, Laura, Robert and David, grandchildren Conor and Aoibhinn, sister Yvonne and brother in law Harry, nephews Shane and Ryan, son in law Cian, sons partners Marina and Sarah, extended family, kind neighbour’s and friends.

Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.
