Ann and Derek Barry

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden deaths of Ann Barry (née Ryan) of 16 St. Patrick's Close, Kilkenny, who passed away on June 5, 2025 and her beloved son Derek (Dixie) Barry of 40 Newpark Close and late of St. Patrick's Close, Kilkenny who passed away on June 3, 2025. Sadly missed by Ann's partner Jo and Derek's partner Pauleen, Derek's daughter Chloe, son and brother Adrian, daughter and sister Amy, daughter-in-law and sister-in-law Bernadette, son-in-law and brother-in-law David, Ann's grandchildren and Derek's nephew and nieces Jack, Jorja, Sarina, Aoibheann and Arya, Pauleen's children and grandchildren and all of Ann and Derek's extended family and friends.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Sunday, June 8, from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am in St. Patrick's Church, Kilkenny. Ann and Derek will then be laid to rest together in St. Kieran's Cemetery. Houses private please. Margaret Drennan (née Fitzpatrick)

The death has occurred of Margaret Drennan, (née Fitzpatrick), Hill Road, Kilmoganny, Co. Kilkenny. Suddenly, at her residence on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Pre-deceased by her husband Noel and her parents Harney and Biddy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her heartbroken family, her children Janice, Christina, Willie, Patrick and Mark, her grandchildren Leona, Nicole, Nathan, Tara and Grace, Dylan, Noelle, Caoimhe, Raegan and Sophia, Brandon, Nadeen, Sienna, Reece and Cade, Craig, Chloe and Navaeh, daughters-in-law Tina, Julieann and Ann Marie, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan (Eircode R95 Y443) on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 5pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 8pm. Funeral arriving to St. Eoghan’s Church Kilmoganny, on Saturday,  June 14, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial will follow afterwards in Kilmoganny Cemetery. House private please.

 

Pamela (Pam) Kelly (née Scales)

The death has occurred of Pamela (Pam) Kelly (née Scales), Ballyhale, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Moonteenmore, Dungarvan and Sunderland, UK. Pam passed away on June 5, 2025 in the wonderful care of the staff at Mooncoin Residential Care Centre. Predeceased by her sister Anne and infant brother Alfred. Beloved wife of the late Jim and much loved mother of John, Kathleen and Lynne. Pam will be dearly missed by her loving family, sister Freda, daughter-in-law Maggie, sons-in-law James and John, grandchildren Stephen, Kevin, Ryan, Shane, Jason and Adam, great grandchildren Harper and Tyler, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Saturday, June 7, from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 6pm. Removal on Sunday morning to the Church of the Assumption, Gowran, arriving for Mass at 11.30am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. John Mackey

The death has occurred of John Mackey, Finsbury Park, London and formerly of Mellowes Park, Callan, Co. Kilkenny. In his 88th year, taken from his family in tragic circumstances, in London on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Pre-deceased by his brothers Paddy, Christy and Milo, his sisters Kitty, Mary and Ann and his nephews Tony and Brian. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his brothers Tommy and Liam, his sisters Betty and Ellen. Much loved uncle of Steven, Pat, Mags, Adrian, Majella, Gareth, Michelle, Lisa, Katy, Gary, Noel, Trudy, Sheila, Dorothy, David, Alan, Lorraine, Breda, Kim, Sharon and their families, his friend and brother-in-law Bill Noone. Remembered with love by his friends and neighbours in London. A kind, gentle and charming man.

Reposing at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan (Eircode R95 Y443) on Wednesday, June 25, from 5pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Funeral Prayers on Thursday, June 26, at 10.15am followed by removal to The Church of the Assumption, Callan arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial will follow afterwards in Kilbride Cemetery, Callan.The Requiem Mass may be viewed live on the following link; churchmedia.ie (Callan Parish). Back home in Callan as he wished.

Alice O'Connor (née Kennedy)

The death has occurred of Alice O'Connor (née Kennedy), Milepost, Slieverue, Co. Kilkenny, who died on Thursday, June 5, 2025, aged 91 years. Peacefully, in the tender care of her loving family and all the staff at Waterford Residential Care Centre, predeceased by her husband Bill, son Nicky, grandson Daniel, parents Patrick and Hannah, brothers Jim, Ned, Dick, Pat, Martin and John and sisters Peggy and Bridie. Alice will be sadly missed by her loving daughters Mary, Joan and Mags (Phelan), son Pat, daughters-in-law Una and Mary, sons-in-law Paddy and Desmond, grandchildren Patrick, Niamh, Amy, Luke, Sara, Aodh, Finn, Donal, Paidi, Seadh and Peig, sisters Mary (Murphy) and Josie (Lynch), sister-in-law Kathleen (O'Connor), nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Alice will be reposing in Power's Funeral Home, Ferrybank, on Friday, June 6, from 7pm concluding with Prayers at 8.15pm, Alice's Removal will take place on Saturday, June 7 (via her home) to Church of The Assumption, Slieverue, arriving for Requiem Mass at 10am after which Alice will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Eddie Roche

The death has occurred of Eddie Roche,  Robinstown, Glenmore, Kilkenny, on June 5, 2025. Predeceased by his parents Dick and Ellen, sister Ann and brother Sean. Sadly missed by his loving wife Sarah, son Nicky, grandson Corey, siblings Mary, Mickey, Jimmy, Helen and Tommy, brothers-in-law Tom, Bob and Peter, sisters-in-law Nadine, Paula and Ann, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing in Doyle's Funeral Home, The Old Rectory, Rosbercon, New Ross on Saturday, June 7, from 4pm to 7pm, pausing for prayers at 6pm. Funeral to arrive at St James Church Glenmore for 11am Requiem Mass on Sunday, June 8, (walking from Eddies residence) with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
