A Tipperary business is to close early "as a mark of respect" after the sudden death of a much-loved colleague.
Tipperary Co-op Hardware Store said: "Due to the sudden death of our colleague Carmel Costigan, the O'Brien Street branch Tipperary Town will close early this Friday, June 20 at 4pm as a mark of respect.
"May she rest in peace."

Carmel Costigan of Fr Matthew Street, Tipperary Town and late of Grovine East, Kilkenny passed away on June 18, 2025 following a long illness bravely borne.
Predeceased by her infant brother Trevor.

Beloved daughter of Ned and Marian, much-loved sister of Adrian and Michelle.
Carmel will be sadly missed by her parents and siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, neighbours, friends and colleagues in Tipperary and Kilkenny.
Reposing at Hehir's Funeral Home, Kilkenny (R95 FH90) from 4.30pm to 6.30pm on Friday, June 20 with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 5pm.

Funeral on Saturday at 12 noon in St Joseph's Church, Foulkstown followed by interment in the adjoining Cemetery.
