Marie Hogan (née Connolly)

The death has occurred of Marie Hogan (née Connolly), New Aglish, Carrigeen, Kilkenny, X91P4A0. Surrounded by her loving family, Marie passed away in the devoted care of Mooncoin Residential Care Home, Co. Kilkenny. Predeceased by her father Jack, mother Brigid, stepmother Tess, brothers Peadar, Denis and Seán, and also her beloved Aunty Margaret and Uncle Denis. Beloved wife of Frank, loving mother to Seán, Conor, Diarmaid, Niamh, Ruairí, Bríd, Úna and Róisín. Adored Granny to Nova, Lara, Kate, Luke, Liam, Delta, Niamh, Eilidh, Euan, Tadhg and Oisín. Sadly missed by her brother Jim, daughters-in-law Sheelagh, Mary and Anita, and sons-in-law Enda and Alexis, sister-in-law Breda, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her family home in New Aglish on Friday, August 29, from 5pm to 7pm. Family and friends welcome at all other times. Arriving on Saturday morning to St. Kevin's Church, Carrigeen, Co. Kilkenny, for requiem mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations (if desired) to Médecins Sans Frontièrs (MSF).

William (Liam) Carey

The death has occurred of William (Liam) Carey, Ayrsfield, Granges Road, Kilkenny and formerly of Gathabawn. Retired CS at Stephen's Barracks, Kilkenny. Liam, in his 99th year, passed away on August 27, 2025, peacefully after a short illness, at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Peggy (née Cuddihy) and much loved father of Suzanne and Thomas. Liam will be dearly missed by his wife and family, son-in-law Ahmed, daughter-in-law Joan, grandchildren Ruth, Yacine, Louiza, Maria and Aaron, niece Bethanne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends. Liam is predeceased by his sisters Anne and Margaret and brother John.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Friday, August 29, from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary and Prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am in St. Canice's Church, Kilkenny (R95V440). Funeral afterwards to St. Lachtain's Cemetery, Freshford. House private please. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed REQUIEM MASS

 

Victor Couse

The death has occurred of Victor Couse, Cork and formerly of Kilkenny, on August 25, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Cork University Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Frankie, cherished dad of Eimear, Gary and Niall, brother of the late Billy and Greg. Sadly missed by his loving children, adored grandchildren Róisín and Doireann, daughter-in-law Yvonne, nephews, nieces, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Requiem Mass at 11am on Friday, August 29, in the Church of the Real Presence, Curraheen which will be live streamed Here Funeral afterwards to St. Oliver’s Cemetery, Model Farm Road. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to the R.N.L.I.

Julia Walsh (née Cawley)

The death has occurred of Julia Walsh (née Cawley), Kells Road, Kilkenny and formerly of Newpark Close. Julia passed away on August 26, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Predeceased by her husbands John Delaney and more recently John Walsh, her daughter Angela and son Martin. Beloved mother of Margaret, John, Melissa and Louise. Julia will be deeply missed by her loving children, stepchildren Rowena, Margaret, Edward, John John, James and Joey, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, extended family, neighbours and friends. Julia's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Surgical/Medical Unit at St. Luke's Hospital for the kindness and care shown to her during her time with them.

Gareth Kyte

The death has occurred of Gareth Kyte, Briarwood, Slieverue, Kilkenny / Slieverue, Waterford / Caherdaniel, Kerry. Formerly of Pyle, Wales. Gareth passed away on Sunday, August 24,  after a short illness. Predeceased by his beloved parents, Stan and Beryl Kyte and sister Angela Crocker. He will be deeply missed by his heart broken wife, Maria. Lovingly remembered by his family in Wales, brother-in-law Mike Crocker, nephew Ryan and wife Mel, niece Shelley, and adored grand nephews and niece, Arthur, Ethan and Angie. Sadly, missed by his Irish family, sisters-in-law Patricia, Joan, Irene and Fran, brothers-in-law John, Michael, Jim and Colm, nieces, Tara and Amy, nephews Keon, Sean, Regan and Dylan and all his extended family and many friends.

Reposing at Donnacha Doyle & Sons Funeral Home, Grannagh, Kilmacow, County Kilkenny (X91 C962) on Friday, August 29, from 5pm until 8pm with reflection on Gareth’s life at 7.30pm. Cremation at 2pm on Saturday, August 30, at The Island, Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, County Cork, (PD4 DD71). Everyone welcome.
