The death has occurred of Canice Farrell, Knockatrina House, Durrow, Co. Laois and formerly of Damerstown, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny. Canice passed away peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Lena, children Marette, Anita, Canice and Edwina, son-in-law James and daughter-in-law Liz, his adored and cherished grandchildren, Sadhbh and Sennan, sister Lily and brother Sean, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at Knockatrina House, on Saturday, September 6, from 2pm, pausing for prayers at 8.30pm. Removal on Sunday, September 7, at 11.30am for Funeral Mass in the Church of theImmaculate Conception, Castlecomer, at 12.30pmfollowed by burial in Durrow cemetery (R32CK11) approximately 2pm. Family time on Sunday morning please.
The death has occurred of Maura Connick (née O'Driscoll), Tennypark, Callan Road, Kilkenny. Maura passed away on September 3, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital, after a short illness and in the presence of her family. Beloved wife of Arthur and much loved mother of Maria, Deirdre and Adrian. Maura will be dearly missed by her loving family, brothers Paddy and Kevin, sons-in-law Denis and Kevin, daughter-in-law Helen, grandchildren Ross, Gavin, Andrew, Paddy, Ella and Christian, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Maura's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Luke's Hospital for the care and kindness shown to Maura during her time there.
Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Friday, September 5, from 5pm to 7pm with Prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am in St. Fiacre's Church, Loughboy. Funeral afterwards to Foulkstown Cemetery. House private please. Family flowers only please. The death has occurred of Joseph (Joe) Nolan, Mooreville, Rathdowney, Laois and formerly Tullyvolty, Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny, September 3, 2025, peacefully in the loving care of management and staff at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home Crosspatrick, Co. Kilkenny in his 97th year. Predeceased by his wife Frances, son Liam and daughter Rose. Deeply regretted by his loving family, his sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister-in-law Maura, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at O'Sullivan's Funeral Home, Rathdowney (Eircode R32 NY24) on Friday from 6pm pausing for prayers at 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning to the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Rathdowney arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Bealady Cemetery.
The death has occurred of Patrick (Pa) O'Shea, Hillcrest, Donaguile, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, on September 3, 2025, at Saint Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his parents Bridget and James. Pa will be sadly missed by his loving brothers, William, Michael and Martin, sisters-in-law Mary and Catherine, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, close family and friends.

Kathleen passed away peacefully, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family in the kind care of the Acute Stroke Unit of St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Devoted wife of Jim, beloved mother of John, Marie, Anne, Cathy, Jimmy, Thomas and Frank; doting grandmother of Eoin, Jack, Helen, Tom, Ciarán, Cian, Maebh, Seodhna, Aisling and Emma. Kathleen will be greatly missed by her husband, sons, daughters, grandchildren, brothers Tom and John, sister Anne (Long), sons in law Cormac and Seán, daughters-in-law Ann-Marie and Lisa, Anne's partner Trevor, brothers-in-law Tom and Liam, sisters-in-law Catherine, Margaret and Meg, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, close friend Margaret and a wide circle of friends.
Removal takes place on Friday morning, September 5, to St Kieran's Church, Johnstown arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in Johnstown Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations if desired to SOS Kilkenny. House private please
