The death has occurred of Ellen (Nell) O’Brien (née Burke), Cloonchambers, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, and formerly of Nottingham, England and Loughboy, Kilkenny, September 4, 2025, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar. Nell will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Eddie, children Margaret (Colson, Loughglynn), Bernadette (Cloonchambers), Angela (Zannetou, Nottingham), Andrew (Kilkenny), Helen (Daley, Nottingham), and Anthony (Sligo), sisters Myra (Costello, Kilkenny), Doly (Kelly, Kilkenny), Carol (Kilkenny) and Stella (O’Rourke, Kilkenny), brothers Denis (Kilkenny), and Billy (Harrow, England), grandchildren Katie, Meghan, Robert, Chris, Aaron, Harrison, Eddie, Joseph, Ellen, Rhiannon, Evie, Larry, Íarainn and Faolán, sons-in-law Phil, Kyriacos and Ben, daughter-in-law Julie and Karen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Nell’s funeral will arrive at St. Joseph’s Church, Foulkstown, Kilkenny (R95 A891) for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon on Monday. Burial afterwards in Foulkstown Cemetery. House private please. The death has occurred of Catherine Joyce, 256A Chatsworth, Clogh, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Kilkenny Street, Castlecomer, on September 4, 2025. Peacefully, in the exceptional care of the staff in the Oak Ward, South East Palliative Care Centre, Waterford. Pre-deceased by her father Edward, mother Annie, sister Marie, brother-in-law Kit and four nephews Catherine will be forever missed by her loving partner Teresa, sister Margaret (Peg), niece Ann and her partner Richie, nephews Stephen, David and their wives Michelle and Eithne, grandnieces and grandnephews and a wide circle of friends.

Pre-deceased by her parents Joe, Kitty sister Ann and husband Brendan, sadly missed by her sister Lena, brother Jim, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Agnes will be reposing at Walsh's Funeral Home, New Street, Carrick-on-Suir on Monday, September 8, from 5pm, followed by removal at 6.30pm to the church of the Assumption, Piltown, Requiem mass on Tuesday, September 9, at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The death has occurred of Tommy Bartley, Manukau , New Zealand formerly Cork City and Piltown, Co Kilkenny. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tommy, who passed away in New Zealand. He will be forever loved and remembered by his cherished and most precious daughter Leah, parents Mick and Pauline, sisters Elaine and Susan, nephews Aaron and Jack, Leah's mum Sandra , brother-in-law Mick and his wider family and friends in Ireland and New Zealand.

John passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, surrounded by his loving family and in the tender care of the staff of Archers Rath Nursing Home, Kilkenny after bravely fighting a long illness. The death has occurred of Ferdinand (Ferdie) Fitmaurice, Charleville View, Tullamore, Offaly, formerly High Street, Kilkenny. Ferdie passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home on September 4, 2025. Pre-deceased by his father Jim and mother Nora, sister Teresa and brother Greg.
