Luke Harney

The death has occurred of Luke Harney, 8 Willow Grove, Oakridge, Ferrybank, Waterford / Kilmacow, Kilkenny. Formerly of Grannagh, Kilmacow, County Kilkenny. Aged 33 years. Luke passed away on Monday at University Hospital Waterford surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his grandparents Gerry and Pearl (Harney), Mick and Molly (Fell) and mother-in-law Teresa (Ryan). Sadly missed by his cherished fiancée Natasha (Tash) and adored daughters Holly and Sofia, heartbroken parents Paul and Jacinta, brother Gerry and sister-in-law Kristina, brothers Shane and Jake and their partners Cliona and Lauryn, father-in-law Willie, brother-in-law Keith and his wife Sharon, aunts, uncles, aunts-in-law, uncles-in-law, nieces and nephews Aoibhe, Sadhbh, Jack, Alfie, Toby and Poppy, cousins, relatives, his GAA family and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing on Wednesday at Donnacha Doyle & Sons, Funeral Home, Grannagh, Kilmacow from 5pm until 8pm. Arriving on Thursday at St. Senan’s Church, Kilmacow for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Burial after in the adjoining cemetery. Both family homes strictly private please. Family flowers only please, donations to the Dillion Quirke Foundation. Agnes Cleary (née Scully)

The death has occurred of Agnes Cleary (née Scully), Bawngarriff, Piltown, Kilkenny / Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary, who passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025 in St Anthony ward Clonmel surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her parents Joe, Kitty sister Ann and husband Brendan, sadly missed by her sister Lena, brother Jim, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Requiem mass on Tuesday, September 9, at 11am at  the Curch of the Assumption, Piltown, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please donations if desired to the Irish Cancer Society thank you. Funeral can be viewed on: https://templeorumparish.ie/

Tommy Bartley

The death has occurred of Tommy Bartley, Manukau , New Zealand formerly Cork City and Piltown, Co Kilkenny. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tommy, who passed away in New Zealand. He will be forever loved and remembered by his cherished and most precious daughter Leah, parents Mick and Pauline, sisters Elaine and Susan, nephews Aaron and Jack, Leah's mum Sandra , brother-in-law Mick and his wider family and friends in Ireland and New Zealand.

Tommy will be reposing at Walsh's Funeral Home Carrick-on-Suir on Thursday, September 11, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Cremation service will take place at the Island crematorium Ringaskiddy, Cork on Friday at 1pm.

John Lawless

The death has occurred of John Lawless, Newtown, Borris, Carlow, R95XW21 / Graignamanagh, Kilkenny. John passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, surrounded by his loving family and in the tender care of the staff of Archers Rath Nursing Home, Kilkenny after bravely fighting a long illness. Predeceased by his loving parents Tom and Rosie, niece Kirsty and an infant brother born sleeping. R.I.P. Sadly missed by his brothers Martin, Paddy and Thomas, his sisters Bridget Mullett and Peg Whelan, his nieces Miranda, Laura, Natasha and Rachel, nephews Darren, Kieran and David, grand-niece Ellie Rose, brothers and sisters in law, relatives and friends.

Removal from his home at 10.30am on Monday, September 8, to arrive at St. Moling's Church, Glynn for 11am Requiem Mass followed by burial in St. Mullins Cemetery. House private on Monday morning please. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the Carlow Kilkenny Palliative Care Team.

 

Lucy Burke (née Hickey)

The death has occurred of Lucy Burke (née Hickey), Bohergloss, Freshford, Kilkenny, who passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her parents Christy and Lucy. Sadly missed by her loving husband Séamus, her devoted sons Chris, John, Richard and Stephen, step-son James and family, brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Funeral arriving at St. Lachtain's Church, Freshford, R95 K003, on Tuesday, September 9, for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Lachtain's Cemetary. House private please.
